  12.     I have seen similar questions asked here recently, but haven't managed to
  13.     figure out what the answer is.  The following latex document seems to latex 
  14.     ok, but when I run dvips on the file for some reason it tries to 
  15.     generate pk fonts. Can someone  enlighten me?

  17. If you're using the LaTeX PostScript fonts (psnfss),
  18. maybe psfonts.map doesn't have an entry for ptmr0?
  19. (The psfonts.map in the distribution does have those entries.)

  21. Alternatively, maybe dvips can't find ptmr.vf? Use the debugging flags
  22. (documented in the Texinfo manual) to find out what it's failing to find.
